Our Ministers

The Ministerial Staff of BCC UCC includes some of the most dedicated ministers to be found on this side of Zion.  Our Ministers are bi-vocational in professions ranging from Law Enforcement to Medical doctors to Information Technology Professionals.  Each of our Ministers is ordained to specific ministries at BCC UCC.  Each of our Ministers are Lovers of God and of God’s people.  Each of our Ministers are committed to our Open and Affirming Model wherein all persons in the LGBTQIA community are welcomed to worship, and participation in all aspects of BCC ministries. We are committed to serving the Beloved Community with Compassion, Integrity, Moral Courage, Divine Discipline and Intelligent Faith!

Rev. Samoris Hall

Rev. Samoris Hall was born and raised in Washington, DC.  He is the younger of two siblings, the late Marian J. Ballard (sister), and the son of the late Deacon Talmadge Hall and Deaconess Lucille C. Hall, respectively.  Samoris accepted Christ into his life at the tender age of 8 at Jordan Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, Maryland.  He served as Jr. Deacon there under the leadership of Pastor William J. Smith.Educationally, Samoris attended Washington, DC and Maryland public schools, graduating from Suitland High School. He has both an Associates Degree in Personnel Management from the Community College of the Air Force as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland University College.  Currently, Samoris is matriculating at the Howard University School of Divinity to complete his Masters of Divinity degree.  Samoris is a 28-year veteran of the United States

Air Force, virtually covering the globe with assignments in Africa, Asia, Europe and the entire Continental United States. Samoris retired from active military service at the pentacle of his career, holding the esteemed rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He is

currently the Administrative Officer for the Chief Defense Counsel for Military Commissions.  Rev. Hall accepted the call to ministry in 2005, licensed in 2009 and ordained in 2011.  He is one of the founding members of Beloved Community Church under Pastors Guy and Sherry Molock. Samoris is the Church Administrator, serves as Worship Leader with his wife Paula, a member of the Beloved Praise team, responsible for the Facilities Ministry and a host of additional duties.  The Halls have been married for 30 years and have three children; Areyal L. Hall, Samoris Hall Jr. and Aaron M. Hall.

Rev. Paula E. Hall

Rev. Paula E. Hall is a native Washingtonian, born, raised and educated in Washington, DC Public Schools. She is an ordained Baptist minister and UCC Minister in Discernment currently serving as Assistant Pastor of Praise and Worship at Beloved Community Church UCC.  She is the founder of “Freedom Thinker’s” Young Adult Ministry whose focus is centered on applying the Biblical text to current trends and events using eclectic and interactive methodologies directed to young adults.  Paula’s ministry focus is on Social Justice and Biblical literacy.  She believes that contextual and literary examination of Biblical Scriptures will empower believers to love God, stand for justice, reject literalism and live in community.  By faith, she prays that God’s people will seek out, reach out, and embrace all of creation especially those living on the margins of society.  Rev. Hall is currently matriculating through the Doctor of Ministry

(DMin) program at Howard University School of Divinity.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Tech.  She also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Incarnate Word and a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD).  Paula is a veteran of the United States Air Force where she served as a Communications Officer on active duty for 10 years.  She has over 30 years of experience in Telecommunications. Currently, she is the Manager of Media and Communications at Howard University School of Divinity.  Paula met her best friend and beloved husband, Rev. Samoris Hall, while on active duty at Shaw AFB in Sumter, South Carolina. They married in 1987 and have three children Samoris Jr, Aaron and Areyal.  In 2008, Paula and Samoris became founding members of Beloved Community Church (BCC) with Pastors Guy and Sherry Molock. She and Samoris were licensed in ministry in 2009 and ordained in 2011. Currently, she is an active member of the leadership team and serves as the BCC Assistant Pastor of Praise and Worship, Bible Study teacher, Web Master, and Social Media Director.  Paula is also an exciting speaker and workshop facilitator. All of her favorite scriptures involve transforming from an old self-centered mindset to one of enlightenment and responsible engagement like Romans 12:1 that says…..be transformed by the renewing of your mind…..

Rev. Toya Dover

Reverend Toya Dover received her MDIV from Howard University School of Divinity. She has taught Sunday School to children and young adults and currently serves as Spiritual Advisor to Total Praise (Liturgical Dance Ministry) and the Bereavement and Comfort Ministry. Rev. Dover’s passion is in ministering to at risk teens and said she “takes delight in using all of her God given creativity to bring the word of God alive” in her preaching. She credits Jeremiah 31:3 as her foundation and humbling reminder of God’s faithfulness in her call to Ministry; “I have loved thee with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness.” – Jeremiah 31:3

Rev. Carl Taylor

Reverend Carl E. Taylor, Sr. grew up in Willingboro, New Jersey. He is the middle child of William H. Taylor, Jr. and Carrie B. Taylor.  He received his primary education and secondary education from the Willingboro Township public school system and is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.  His academic pursuits continued at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, majoring in Sociology with a minor in psychology, where he acquired his Bachelor Degree.  In 2004, he graduated Suma Cum Laude with a dual Masters Degree in Human Resources Management and Business Management from Webster University. Reverend Taylor was licensed to preach the gospel January 11, 1998 and ordained December 8, 2002. He began his walk with God long before being called to the ministry as a young man at his home church, Saints Memorial Community Church.  Rev. Taylor

and family became members of Fort Foote Baptist Church (FFBC) July 1993 where they were involved with various ministries.  Prior to his call to the ministry Rev. Taylor served as a Deacon at his former church and Fort Foote Baptist Church for six years, three as the Deacon Trainer.  He served as the Chairperson for the Youth Ministry for three years before his appointment as Youth Minister in January 1998. While Youth Minster he served for ten years as the District of Columbia Baptist Convention Youth Retreat Teacher and Group Leader.  Rev. Taylor also served as the first Drummer for the FFBC Youth Choir (Vessels of Praise) for 13 years before he retired from the choir in January 2006. Rev. Taylor is one of the founding ministers/leaders of the Beloved Community Church which started back in 2007. Rev. Taylor currently wears a few hats; Assistant Church Administrator, Chairperson of the Men’s Ministry, Chairperson of the Act of Kindness Ministry, Pastor over the Stewardship Ministry and Drummer in the Music Ministry and any other services needed. First and foremost Rev. Taylor gives GOD all the Glory, Honor, and Praise!!! He thanks God for his loving and devoted wife Pamela of 37 years (high school sweetheart), his wonderful and poetic son Carl Jr. (40 years old), and his wonderful, sweet spirit filled singing daughter Sharese, (35 years old).  His favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding,  In all thine ways acknowledge him and he shall direct our paths.” Ministry Leadership & participation:
